We’re delighted to announce a transformative international publishing partnership between Catalyst Press and Modjaji Books, effective May 2025. This marks a major expansion of our successful collaboration that began in 2016, now reaching new global horizons.

Catalyst Press has acquired international rights to five of Modjaji’s acclaimed titles, including:

Bom Boy by Yewande Omotoso
Do Not Go Gentle (published internationally as We Kiss Them with Rain) by Futhi Ntshingila
Grace (as Unmaking Grace)

Expanding Global Reach for Acclaimed Titles

This groundbreaking partnership significantly enhances the global reach of Modjaji Books’ most celebrated titles, bringing powerful African narratives to a wider, more diverse audience. By joining forces with Catalyst Press, a respected advocate for international literature, these stories will now travel beyond regional borders — reaching new readers in North America, Europe, Asia, and other major literary markets.

The expanded distribution strategy includes partnerships with mainstream and independent bookstores, academic institutions, and digital platforms. Translated editions in languages such as French, Spanish, and German are in development to ensure accessibility across linguistic boundaries. These versions will preserve the cultural integrity of each work while introducing fresh perspectives to readers around the world.
